Introducing The Topspin 170
The Topspin 170 is a scalable InfiniBand switching solution for high-performance computing applications. Fully non-blocking, the Topspin 170 provides up to 96 10Gbps (4X) InfiniBand ports is a single chassis. Configurable in 12 port increments and cascade-able for scalability, the Topspin 1 70 provides an ideal building block for clusters ranging in size from tens-to thousands of nodes. Additionally, when combined with either the Topspin 90 or Topspin 360 and their Ethernet and Fibre Channel gateways, customers can provide seamless connectivity between the high-performance server cluster and its LANs and SANs.

Superior Performance
Providing excellent density with 96 ports and 1.92 Terabits of total bandwidth, the Topspin 170 supports its high-port count with a constant bisectional bandwidth (CBB) fat-tree topology that provides full 10Gbps throughput and extremely low latency for each port. The InfiniBand-based architecture of the TS170 reduces latency to lower levels than other 10Gbps technologies can achieve.

Effortless Management
Using Topspin 's Subnet Manager, the Topspin 170 can be deployed out of the box in minutes. And with Topology Transparency, no changes are necessary to existing SAN and IP management tools. Configuration and maintenance are simplified with a full-featured graphical user interface (GUI) and command line interface (CLI) via serial console, Telnet or SSH, enabling remote monitoring, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

High Availability
The Topspin 170 features a passive, mid-plane design with redundant, hot-swappable controllers, cards, and power supplies to provide peerless high availability and to facilitate maintenance and service. The redundant controllers are synchronized t o prevent communication disruptions in the event that a controller fails.

Complete End-to-End Solution
The Topspin 170 joins what is already the most complete switched computing solution in the industry. This includes Topspin 's 360 and 90 Switched Computing Systems, integrated Ethernet and Fibre Channel gateway modules, 10Gbps InfiniBand host channel adapters with complete upper layer protocols suite (IPoIB, MPI, SDP, SRP, uDAPL, VIPL), and subnet manager.
